Kundapur is a small town located in the state of Karnataka in South India.It is situated on the coastal belt along the Arabian sea.Having a population of over 100 thousand in and around the towns' a blend of many communities.A small town by many standards,it has a charm of its very own.

The language spoken by the locals and within a radius of 20-25 kms is a distinct dialect called Kundapur Kannada.

Kundapur gets its name from the Kundeshwar temple which is a temple dedicated to the Lord Shiva.

The town has a number of beautiful beaches in its vicinity.The most breathtaking sight is the Marvanthe beach located around 15 km from the town.To catch a glimse of the beach check it out!

Other sites which are famous include the well known Kollur Mookambika temple situated an hour from the town.Frequent buses are available to the temple town and is a must see.

Yakshagana is a renowned art form performed in this area.
